musicAeterna choir will be a headliner of the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence
The General Director of the Festival, Bernard Foccroulle, was very impressed by the work of choir in The Indian Queen. So he invited musicAeterna to perform in Aix with the programme of choir works from the Middle Ages to the XXIst century as well as to participate in new festival productions of Handel’s Alcina and Mozart’s Die Entführung Aus Dem Serail. On July 16 Perm opera soloists Nadezhda Pavlova and Natalia Lyaskova, Stanislav Leontiev and Dmitry Ulianov, musicAeterna orchestra and choir under Teodor Currentzis conduction will perform Henry Purcell’s Anthems, Igor Stravinsky’s The Wedding and a cappella choruses and Orthodox liturgy. It will be not the first time when Teodor Currentzis works with the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. In 2012 the Festival participated in coproduction with Teatro Real and Opéra de Lyon of the diptych Iolanta / Persephone, staged in Madrid by Teodor Currentzis and Piter Sellars.
