Georgij Belaga

BIOGRAPHY
Belaga was born in Moscow and has lived in Germany since 1979. His career as a lighting designer started with rock concerts at The Tempodrom Berlin. Since 1997 he has done the lighting for theatre productions at the Residenztheater in Munich. Selected works include: Stone by Marius von Mayenburg, Wir sind Gefangene (We are prisoners) by Oskar Maria Graf, Flegeljahre and Der Komet by Jean Paul and DNA by Dennis Kelly. Since 2000 Belaga has worked with various theatres in western Europe and from 2009 began collaborating with Bayerische Staatsoper, including during a Bavarian Ballet tour of cities in Italy and Germany. He has taken part in the Literaturfestival in Berlin and concerts of the Mozartband ensemble in Maribor, Braunschweig and Pforzheim.
