BIOGRAPHY

In 2007, he graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, the viola class of Alexei Ludevig, and entered the post-graduate course at the Conservatory, the class of Alexander Richter. He completed courses at the University of Northern Iowa (USA, 2009) under Julia Bullard and the Netherlands String Quartet Academy (2010) under Stefan Metz and Marc Danel. He continued his conducting studies in 2014-2015 at the ADADS — Accademia Dell’Arte Dello Spettacolo (Piacenza, Italy) under Marco Beretta. Since 2016, he has taken lessons with Pr. Fred Buttkewitz of the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. He also received the Russian Government Scholarship.

In 2009, he joined the Kyiv Soloists National Ensemble and the Collegium String Quartet. In 2011, he became a soloist with the orchestra of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theatre (Ulan-Ude) and an assistant to the theatre’s principal conductor. A year later, he became a theatre’s conductor. In 2013, with support from the Ministry of Culture of Buryatia, he established the Youth Chamber Orchestra of Buryatia. From 2015 to 2019, he was the conductor of the Buryat State Philharmonic Society. Since season 2019/2020, he has been a soloist with the orchestra and conductor of the Perm Opera. Since season 2023/2024, he has been a principal conductor of the Theatre.

His repertoire as a conductor includes Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and Swan Lake, Minkus’s La Bayadère, Prokofiev’s Chout (The Buffoon) and Romeo and Juliet, Schaherezade to music by Rimsky-Korsakov, Les Patineurs to music by Meyerbeer, Anyuta to music by Valery Gavrilin.

He has collaborated with the Moscow Soloists, Novaya Rossiya, Mariinsky Orchestra (Primorsky Stage), Belarusian State Academic Symphony Orchestra, Minsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Berlin Camerata, Mongolian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of St. Petersburg Philharmonia, St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, Irkutsk Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Nizhny Novgorod Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Tomsk Philharmonic Orchestra, Sochi Symphony Orchestra, and others.

Vladimir Tkachenko’s performances have been recorded for radio and television archives. The musician has also recorded two CDs with the Chamber Orchestra of St. Petersburg Philharmonia and the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra.
