The company of the Perm opera and ballet theatre opens the new season with new faces. 16 young artists came to the theatre. They are graduates of the Perm ballet school and dancers from Brazil, Japan, Korea, Norway and Mongolia. The ballet company of the Perm opera and ballet theatre got new soloists and premiers. Young artists were accepted to the company following performances at international competitions and examinational shows of ballet schools. Many of the young dancers are already familiar to Perm audience. Among newbies there are laureates and winners of the International competition “Arabesque-2018”.

The Korean dancer Song Jeongeun, a winner of “Arabesque-2018” in the senior group among women, joined the company as a ballerina which is the highest rank for a ballet dancer in the Perm theatre. Also the Brazilians Gabriel Lopes and Markos Yago having had a great success at “Arabesque” became premiers of the Perm company and already in September they will go onstage in main parts. Gabriel Lopes will perform the role of prince Siegfried in “Swan Lake” on the 1st of September in a duet with the ballerina of the theatre Polina Buldakova. Markos Yago will make his debut on the Perm stage as Duke Albrecht in “Giselle”. His partner will be accepted as a soloist Brazilian dancer Luanna Gondim. The role of Hans will be performed by one more soloist from Brazil Sairon Pereira.

The winner of the second prize of the competition “Arabesque” this year, a graduate of the Perm ballet school, Bulgan Rentsendorj, also joined the company as a soloist. She will make her debut as Odette in “Swan Lake” on the 2nd of September. Vitaly Dubrovin, a ballet company director of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre:

— It’s a unique and rather rare situation when young dancers, graduates of ballets schools join the theatre and immediately make their debut in main and solo parts. But the new intake is relay very strong. The dancers are very bright and they have already presented themselves at international competitions. Of course it’s a tremendous job to add so many performances into repertoire shows, that’s why these days the teachers and the company are working literally morning until night.

Aleksey Miroschnichenko, a principal ballet master of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre:

— I wish success to all newcomers to the company, and a bright and memorable season to the ballet company and spectators.

There with, starting from this season the artists of the company Georgy Enaldiev, Oleg Kulikov and Pavel Savin were promoted to the rank of soloists.
