musicAeterna orchestra is nominated for the international Opera Awards

The orchestra musicAeterna of the Perm opera and ballet theatre was nominated for the prestigious international Opera Awards – the analogue of “Oscar” in the world of opera. Winners’ names will be announced at the ceremony on the 29th of April in London.

The orchestra musicAeterna was nominated for the award for the second time. In the nomination “Opera orchestra” this year orchestras of Los Angeles Opera, Moscow theatre “Novaya Opera”, Royal Danish theatre, Royal Opera House and Staatsoper Berlin go up against musicAeterna of Perm Opera.

Awards are given in 18 categories. The whole list of nominees is available on the awards website.

Furthermore, a conductor and a musician Maxim Emelyanychev, who used to perform as a member of musicAeterna orchestra and continued to collaborate with the theatre as a conductor, is nominated in the category “Newcomer”.

Last year the choir musicAeterna became a laureate of the Opera Awards.

The international Opera Awards was founded in 2012 by an English businessman and opera lover Harry Hyman and an editor of the Opera Magazine, a musical critic of The Sunday Telegraph John Allison, a head of the Jury. The first ceremony was held in 2013.
