The recording of Le nozze di Figaro and musicAeterna choir are nominated for the prestigious Opera Awards 2015 which aim is to promote excellence in opera and to promote international opera.
The second year in a row musicAeterna choir gets into the list of the nominees. Last year European audience was impressed by singers during the tour in Madrid with The Indian Queen.
Other finalists in the category «Chorus» are groups from English National Opera, The Metropolitan Opera, Opera Vlaanderen, Welsh National Operaand Wiener Staatsoper.
The recording of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro is nominated for the best «CD (Complete Opera)». Other nominees in this category are Bartók’s Duke Bluebeard’s Castle (Signum), Handel’s Tamerlano (Naïve), Offenbach’s Fantasio (Opera Rara), Rameau’s Les Indes galantes (Musiques à la Chabotterie) and Strauss’s Intermezzo (cpo records).
In 2014 the recording of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro was nominated for the International Classical Music Awards 2015, and also got ECHO Klassik and was recognized as the recording of the year according to Opernwelt.
Winners will be awarded on April 26, 2015, in The Savoy Theatre & The Savoy Hotel, London.
