Biography
Kanunnikov is a soloist of the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv. He was born in Russia, and has been living in Israelsince 1992. He studied singing at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. His repertoire includes: leading roles in the operas Rigoletto by Verdi and Aleko by Racmaninoff; Don Giovanni and Leporello (Mozart’s Don Giovanni); Escamillo (Bizet’s Carmen); Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola by Rossini); The Bonze (Madama Butterfly) and A Jailer (Tosca) — by Puccini; Philippe II (Verdi`s Don Carlos); Salieri (Rimsky-Korsakov`s Mozart and Salieri); Tomsky (Tchaikovsky`s The Queen of Spades); Mikitich (Mussorgsky`s Boris Godunov); Priest (And the Rat laughed by Ella Milch-Sheriff).
He has performed together with such orchestras as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Romanian National Opera and Haifa Symphony Orchestra, and collaborated with such conductors as Vladimir Yurovsky, Zubin Mehta, Asher Fisch, Daniel Inbal and Massimiliano Stefanelli.
