Biography
Alberghini’s repertoire comprehends roles especially from Mozart’s, Rossini’s and French repertoire such as Don Giovanni, Figaro, Gugliemo, Dandini, and Mustafà Selim. Made his debut in 1993 at Teatro Regio in Turin in opera I Capuletti ad I Montecchi by Bellini and since then he appeared in many of the most important national and international Opera Houses under the baton of important conductors such as Riccardo Chailly, Vladimir Jurowsky, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Seiji Osawa, Michael Tilson Thomas, Thierry Fischer, Teodor Currentzis. He performed a duet with opera divas — Anna Netrebko, Renée Fleming, Elīna Garanča, Vesselina Kasarova, Natalie Manfrino. Critics point out the elegance and ease on stage, in collaboration with partners. He is a regular guest at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro (Italy), Festival Mozart de la Coruna (Spain), Festival Settimane Musicali di Stresa (Italy).
Among his recitals with orchestra are to be remembered Verdi’s Requiem with the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden and with the orchestra Verdi of Milan under maestro Chailly. In 2012 Alberghini performed in crown roles such as Don Giovanni at the Frankfurt Opera and at Teatro dell’Opera Giocosa in Savona (Italy), Figaro at The Opera Colorado in Denver (USA) and Perm Opera Theatre, as Conte at Teatro Comunale in Bologna (Italy). He was Dandini in a live and worldwide broadcast performance of Cenerentola una favola in diretta, based on Rossini’s opera, directed by Carlo Verdone and conducted by Gianluigi Gelmetti.
During 2012/2013 season he performed the role of Dulcamara in Donizetti’s Elisir d’Amore at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Marcello in Puccini’s La Bohème and Dulcamara at the Teatro Regio in Turin, Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen at the Opernhaus Zürich, Cardenio in Il Furioso all’Isola di San Domingo at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, Gugliemo in Perm Opera Theatre. His last engagement was the role of Belcore in Elisir d’Amore at the Washington National Opera.
