Children’s Album

24 easy pieces for piano

The composition was written in 1878

Children’s Album is a collection of musical miniatures by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, intended for solo piano, which the composer dedicated to his nephew Vladimir Davydov. Along with similar compositions by Schumann, Grieg, Debussy, Ravel and Bartók, Tchaikovsky is a member of the «golden fund» of world musical literature for children. In 2014, the composer Dmitry Batin orchestrated all twenty-four pieces of the album, and in the 2015/2016 season, the Perm Opera presents to its young audience the familiar Children’s Album, but on a new scale.
