The performance of Sir Frederick Ashton’s Les Patineurs (The Skaters) (1937) to music composed by Meyerbeer is a charming winter sketch — it is as though one is peeping through a Victorian window. To this day it remains a repertoire favourite of The Royal Ballet.

The ballet is staged in collaboration with the Frederick Ashton Foundation in accordance with Ashton’s style and technique
