Octopus’s Garden
The concert-performance set to music of Russian and foreign composers
The world premiere was performed in Perm in 2017
The concert-performance for children «Octopus’s garden» staged by Maria Litvinova and Viacheslav Ignatov is their second directorial work in the Perm opera and ballet theatre. In 2014 Litvinova and Ignatov staged in the theatre’s foyer the opera-quest «Journey to the Jambleys land» by Pospelov, which took the award «Golden mask». The new family performance uses expressiveness of puppet, musical and dance theatres.
Songs put to music of Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Schubert, Rossini, Fauré and other composers are unified by a fantasy plot and are performed in a colourful scenography. The costumes and sets transforming during the performance lead little listeners to a peculiar artistic reality where they can meet for the first time the paragons of the world’s classical music.
