Second Round of Competition
Description
Age category: 0+
Duration: 2 hours 0 minutes

First held in 1990, ‘Arabesque’ is today considered one of the world's most prestigious ballet competitions. Once every two years, young dancers aged 13-26 come from all over the world to Perm, representing many different schools of choreography. For over two decades the competition has been making names for new dancers and creating trends in ballet. Thanks to ‘Arabesque’, Perm, which is home to one of the best classical dance schools in the country – the Perm State Choreographic College – has become widely known as one of the ‘capitals’ of the ballet world.

Since 2012 the ‘Arabesque’ competition has been named after Ekaterina Maximova, who played a great role in the founding of the competition and was the irreplaceable chairman of the international jury. In 2010 Vladimir Vasiliev became the chairman of the jury. The latest «Arabesque» is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of Ekaterina Maximova.
