Two-times prizewinner of the Ekaterina Maximova Ballet Competition “Arabesque” (2016, 2018). Laureate of the Perm City Award in the field of Culture and Art (The Sergei Diaghilev Prize, 2020) for Lt. Colonel Vershinin in Winter Dreams.
Kirill Makurin graduated from the Perm State Ballet School (class of Vladimir Tolstukhin) in 2016 and joined the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre. Since the season 2018/19, he has been a principal dancer.
His repertoire includes such parts as Prince Siegfried, Benno, Hungarian Dance (Swan Lake, edited by Alexey Miroshnichenko), the Nutcracker, the Prince (The Nutcracker, choreography by Alexey Miroshnichenko) in ballets by Tchaikovsky; Basil (Don Quixote), Solor (La Bayadère) in ballets by Minkus; Count Albrecht (Giselle), Conrad, Ali (Le Corsaire) in ballets by Adam; Vaslav (Asafyev’s The Fountain of Bakhchisarai), Student (Anyuta to music by Gavrilin, production and choreography by Vladimir Vasiliev). Performed choreography by Mikhail Fokine (Mazurka, Op. 3, Waltz No. 7, Chopiniana), George Balanchine (Apollon, Stravinsky’s Apollon musagète), Jerome Robbins (Spring. Pas de deux, The Four Seasons to music by Verdi), Sir Frederick Ashton (pas de trois, Les Patineurs to music by Meyerbeer), Sir Kenneth MacMillan (Romeo, Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet; Lt.
